Tokens of Affection.

Metaphorically the shapes, surface reliefs and images explore subjects such as marriage, love and family traditions, all of which use jewellery as a token of affection. The porcelain rings show images of roses referring to passion and love however the magpie might steal the rings and love might be lost. It's a somewhat melancholic body of work but one of my favourite projects

The ring is used as a metaphor for eternal love. Love for a child which never ends or diminishes. The decal images on the inside of one dish came from photos I found on the floor at Deptford Market. I was struck how such cherished photos end up like this and wondered about that baby’s life story.

The jewellery boxes with individual pendants featuring photographs/decals portray people's family long gone were created as part of a project exploring the metaphorical images visualising memories, love, life and family history.
